Accreditation
White Flint Children’s House is an accredited member school of the American Montessori Society (AMS). Accreditation is a voluntary process available to AMS member schools and undertaken by those that are committed to the Montessori philosophy and continuous improvement. As an accredited school, we adhere to rigorous criteria, ensuring that our programs, teaching methods, and learning environments align seamlessly with the principles laid out by the Society.
Every seven years, an AMS-accredited school must undergo reaccreditation. Through a self-study and documentation process, a school defines itself in terms of strengths and areas that need improvement, and validates that the school abides by the Montessori philosophy and best practices. As such, when you choose WFCH for your child's early education, you know you are investing in a high quality Montessori program that is dedicated to ongoing school improvement and professional development.
The American Montessori Society’s Five Core Components of a Quality Montessori Program
Properly Trained Montessori Teachers
Multi-age Classrooms
Use of specially designed learning materials
Child-directed work
Uninterrupted work periods
Per the AMS, Member schools that have earned AMS accreditation—the highest level of recognition for a Montessori school—incorporate these core qualities and meet a standard of excellence recognized by educators worldwide.
In addition to our AMS accreditation, WFCH is honored to be recognized as a top-rated school in the Maryland EXCELS program. This prestigious acknowledgment is a testament to our commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
Maryland EXCELS, a quality rating and improvement system for childcare and early education programs, evaluates schools based on rigorous standards that promote high-quality learning environments, safety, and positive outcomes for children. Our top rating in the Maryland EXCELS program means that families can trust WFCH to offer highly qualified educators, a safe and engaging learning environment, a comprehensive curriculum, and strong partnerships with families.
