White Flint Children’s House offers a funded Head Start program providing high-quality, authentic Montessori early education to eligible infants and toddlers ages 12 months to 3 years. This initiative gives local families access to certified teachers, prepared classroom environments, developmental screenings, and nutritious meals at no out-of-pocket cost to qualifying parents.

Head Start eligibility is primarily determined by family income guidelines established by federal and local standards. Additionally, children automatically qualify if the family receives public assistance such as SNAP (Food Stamps), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), or Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA/TANF), or if the family is navigating foster care or transitional housing. WFCH has open capacity for qualified toddlers ages 12 months to 3 years! Unlike some county programs with rigid capacity limits or long waitlists, we are actively enrolling eligible families for open slots in our Rockville classrooms. However, because spaces are claimed as community awareness grows, we encourage parents to contact us as early as possible to lock in their child’s enrollment.

Yes, completely! Every child at White Flint Children’s House learns together in the exact same authentic Montessori classrooms. Head Start students receive full access to our Montessori-certified lead teachers, specialized hands-on learning materials, outdoor play areas, specialist programs, and community events. There is no distinction between Head Start students and tuition-paying students in our classrooms.

To verify eligibility, parents typically need to provide: Proof of the child’s age (such as a birth certificate or medical record).Proof of Montgomery County residency (utility bill, lease, or mortgage statement).Proof of family income for the past 12 months (W-2 forms, recent pay stubs, tax return, or documentation of public benefit participation such as SNAP or SSI).
